3 Reasons for Businesses to Consider Medium.

Medium is not only a great platform for writers but can be a great place for businesses to share insightful, genuine, and interesting stories.

I have seen it too many times, companies’ blog posts, struggling to get results. Struggling with low views, limited or no interaction. Resulting in little or no return.

This can be due to the approach but also the platform, so here are 3 reasons to consider using Medium for your business.

1. Reach

For businesses, a blog in 2021 can be a difficult place to connect, reach and grow your audience. Without spending a lot of money on advertising, it can be difficult to start and grow and blog.

Why expect people to come to you when you can come directly to them?

This will vary business by business, but there is a high chance some of your potential customers already spend a large amount of their time on Medium.

Why waste all the time, effort, and money trying to grow an audience, when you can already reach out to an already existing one on Medium. This is probably the biggest reason to consider using Medium, they have already spent the last decade growing their platform and audience, taking a lot of the hard work of your hands.

2. Long term return

A good deal of marketing nowadays is shortsighted, looking for quick gains and instant returns. We tend to lean more around pushing our solutions or products directly in the faces of anyone near us.

Although this approach can work, it is not as effective as it was 10 years ago and more. The way we buy has adapted, the way we view businesses has adapted and so too must the way we sell and market.

Where content in general and on Medium excels, is when it focuses on the reader. When you give real value and expect nothing in return.

At first, this would seem like a terrible idea in a business, giving away your knowledge and years of experience and lessons for free. However, in the long term, it will pay off.

If you are seriously considering Medium as a platform in your business. I would first recommend picking up two books “The Art and Business of Online Writing” by Nicolas Cole and “Jab, Jab, Jab, Right Hook” by Gary Vaynerchuk.

3. Value

Writing on Medium is completely free, which makes it a good platform to consider for businesses of all sizes.

In terms of a platform to focus some of your marketing attention, it is not only one of the cheapest, alongside social media, but can also provide a lot of value in the long term.

If you are creating valuable insights and lessons on Medium, you can help grow your customer base. Help attract future employees, and most important of all, help others from your businesses experiences.

Before you go

Medium is a great platform to consider within your businesses. The real value from the platform will come from sharing consistent, regular, and insightful content.

As long as you put in the work, and understand the audience on Medium, it can be a great place to help market your business.
